As part of the MedSeaRise project ‘Support for adaptation to sea level rise in the Mediterranean’, the Nice Côte d’Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised an online workshop, bringing together local and regional stakeholders.
The workshop provided an opportunity to present the methodology developed by the partnership, which incorporates various climate models, as well as to present the potential impacts of sea level rise on a study area. The application of the methodology demonstrates, in particular, the future economic impacts on the many activities that make the coastline attractive.
Discussions focused on analysing the results and gathering ideas for improving the application of the methodology, as well as sharing knowledge, which is essential for the future protection of coastal infrastructure and ecosystems.
The workshop brought together representatives from local and regional public institutions that are already working to develop planning strategies adapted to the challenges of climate change.
